It looks so cool on me.

[He's grinning, gently holding up the plasma sword with glee. It's like a dream come true, as he slowly waves it in the air.

Away from Trevor and himself of course.]

It's so light.

I think that's where the name comes from.

[he's such a shit. Trevor grins, watching]

It definitely took some getting used to. I'm used to air resistance, weight balance. This one had none of it.

Jack ass. You know it's a beacon of light.

[Even that joke doesn't stop him from grinning from ear to ear. It's just kind of fun to wave it around, and hear that tellatale hum. It really is a dream come true.]

You expect it to have more weight, but it's all hilt. It makes sense though.

Because this is a weapon of a hero. They gotta keep going, keep moving forward, have stamina, deflect...weird space shit. Y'know?

[He lowers the plasma sword, though he keeps it in his hands.]

I always wanted one of these. I wanted to be a hero, as a kid.

[his smile slips, watching]

Weapons don't really make heroes. Heroes are insane. You don't want to be a hero, Shrimp.

But, I'll give you one thing. It is a pretty deadly weapon in the right hands.

It was never about the weapon. It was what it meant. It- to me- it was supposed to mean...being special.

Being able to protect people.

[He turns it off, and offers it back, his expression sober.]

Being wanted. I know heroes aren't real, Trevor. And I could never be one.

[atowncalledtreffy]

You can't be one because heroes are...They're things out of fantasy.

But you can be a good man. A great man, who tries his best no matter what. That's so much better than some mythical savior, because you're real.

You understand?

[he takes it back, but slow]

I hear you.

[He shakes his head though, as he gives the light saber back.]

There's no best, Trevor. I can't be a great man. Or a great person. I'm not even a man. I'm just...trash.

Dangerous trash.

[Trevor does one of the more unexpected things, because he himself wasn't expecting it.

He chuckles. Grinning, shaking his head.]

[Ger blinks because...he wasn't expecting it either.]

It's just weird to see self-loathing from the other side, is all.

Actually, it's cute. You're like a little puppy rolling around in garbage and licking yourself and thinking you taste like garbage because you've never had a proper bath in your life.

...well I guess we both need to have a bath if you're full of self loathing.

But seriously? Puppy? Come on. That's too easy.

[Germaryah rolls his eyes and smacks Trevor lightly on the arm. He's always very careful on how much force he uses.]

You and bull balls. I should get you a bowl full for a special day.

[he grins, rubbing his arm]

I'd eat them with a smile.

[a gesture back towards the actual swords]

We're going to pick two for you to keep, a long and a short blade.

I'll make them for you real nice. Put in some real effort.

For you.

[He smiles, a soft expression, before looking to the swords, his eyes lighting up.]

Two? One for guard, one for attack?

[He really is a little sword nerd. It helps distract him from his self loathing at least.]

[that's good. Trevor smiles, warm]

Yeah. Are you ambidextrous?

[he asks, curious]

With some things. Writing, yeah.

[He picks up one of the short swords, holding it up as he rolls his wrist. ]

But other things, I'm right handed.

Might be good to start practicing with just the left, then. Helped me out a lot when I got my right arm incapacitated.

Heh. My eldest sister once tied my arm behind my back and told me to either learn to eat with my left hand or go out back with the pigs in the trough.

Well, I ain't gonna go out to eat with the goats.

I'd end up eating the goats, and everyone would be upset about the lack of milk.

[He grins over at Trevor.]

If it'll help me learn though sure. Tie it. Let's see how it goes from there.

[He snorts, rolling his eyes]

Awww, no rough and tough right away?

I thought this was the school of hard knocks.

[He's grinning as he lightly twists the short sword around, before gently setting it back onto the bed.]

What makes you say that?

[he starts picking out a belt-holster combo that'll fit Shrimp]

Just thought it'd be best to take it seriously.

[He's smiling as he watches Trevor, tilting his head.]

But no, I don't know...crap about learning how to fight proper.

[atowncalledtreffy]

Mostly it's about learning how to take hits and keep on going. Or getting very good at dodging. Not getting overconfident.

[He walks over, settling a bandoleer around Shrimp's shoulder, tightening it to fit around the waist]

How's that feel?

I can take hits.

[There's something quiet in the admittance. But he doesn't tense up as Trevor gets the bandoleer on him.

Instead, he gently feels where it settles on his chest.]

Little loose, but it's getting to that sweet spot of being just right.

...I need to eat even more.

[Ugh.]
