After his shift is over Chris had tasked Peggy with a very important job.
Find Germaryah.
She has a little trouble navigating floors, but she manages to check each one with the help of strangers pressing buttons for her and opening doors.
Once she's accomplished her task she flies back to Christopher in the library and coos at him. No time to lose!
He's quietly talking with her when he steps into a common room and sees a familiar head of hair on the couch.
No blushing allowed, just... just coming to check on a boy. He rounds the couch, fiddling with his hands nervously and Peggy coos again to announce their arrival.
Germaryah had taken his hair out of his scrunchie and was laying on the couch. He knew, if he asked or fallen asleep, John would have let him stay in his cabin.
But that was too much like taking advantage of him, whatever he was. So he was dozing on the couch when he heard, again, the sound of pigeon wings, and opened his eyes.
They were back to hazel. More green then brown, as he blinked up sleepily at the younger teen.
"'M fine." He had his jacket off, and had it over his lap. "Just napping."
He smelt faintly of shampoo and his curls were still a little damp. "Sorry about before, okay? I was a dick."
"You already apologized." He'd decided with John that it wasn't fine, but that doesn't mean it isnt subject to change?
He's quiet for a moment, Peggy nudging his cheek with her beak as he mumbled under his breath a soft 'I know, I know'. He looks at the couch, unsure if he could fit when hes sprawled out, but there is some space. There's also some chairs, but... he points to the spot at his feet.
"I want to sit there. Um." He looks frustrated with himself for a second. That wasnt a question, Chris.
"Yeah, but this time I'm not freaking out." He made to sit up, rubbing at his eyes, feeling gritty. He pulled his legs up too, not seeming to care that his hair fell in his face as he sat up.
"You could. Now, may you? Yeah." Seemed even without motivation, Ger was still a jerk.
Hey, puppy. This is a heads up to let you know I'm not working in the Lounge anymore, so you'll need to determine which of the other staff cares the least about if you drink.
Though if I'm there as a patron I suppose you could just rout through me regardless, but people are so fucking uptight about these sorts of things, for some reason.
'Hey, you' is a terrible placeholder, so I'm making do. We can always swap it to 'kitten' if you're feeling feisty.
I'm not leaving by choice. The problem is that I'm not asking Wiktor to move, and I'm not asking Edward to do it either because he has no reason to listen to me, so by default the person shifting jobs has to be me. Pain in the ass.
Hythlodaeus finds Ger scrubbing floors somewhere mid-ship, as he expected he might, and decides against lingering around to observe him until he's noticed.
He has, he suspects, already been noticed.
"Ger, correct? Or-- another name, if you prefer it." If Ger doesn't get up, Hythlodaeus will crouch down by him as he cleans, but either way he will offer him a bottle of water a few moments later.
He couldn't miss him. There was that clean scent, that came with a nose tingling shot that waked up his senses. He'd smelt it on and off, around the ship, but it was the first time he smelled it so close.
He sat back on his heels, blinking, showing clear hazel eyes as he looked up to Hythlodaeus. The brush on the floor stayed where it was as Ger peered at him, and glanced at the water bottle.
"I got a few." He offered, glancing between the water bottle and Hythlodaeus. "Friend is okay for now."
The eyes that meet his with a clear and gentle curiosity are a similar lilac shade to Hythlodaeus' hair, and hold a soft but obvious glow to the irises. He balances on his heels easily, one arm braced to his knees, and nods.
"Friend it is, then. It just so happens that 'friend' is one of my favourite things to call people," he replies genuinely, before tilting his head and setting the water bottle down in the space between them.
It had taken Hanna long time to get back from the spire. He's fucking exhausted, but that doesnt mean he is done with work yet.
He checks his item once he gets back, looking all for the world like he needs a nap, but that sound from Germaryah... he needs to check in.
And maybe the phone call had been more for himself than Germaryah, but when you're forced to choose to live or die, he knows where he'd stand on whether or not he wanted an apology.
Germaryah couldn't bolt out where he was because he didn't have thumbs.
But he could, and did, curl up into a giant ball, as a wolf. His clothes were torn up, and thankfully they were the only thing that was torn up in the cabin.
He didn't respond to the noise of Hanna coming in. He was just a big, black, fur ball, shaking every so often.
Hanna doesnt care mych about property damage even if he had made a mess, he comes in, sits his ass down on the floor and very gently runs his fingers through the thick scruff on his neck and shoulders, trying for soothing.
He's pretty sure Ger can smell him, so its not a surprise.
