"Well I'll give you options. A name clicks or it doesn't." Which he understands in his own weird way, far better than not wanting to accept the truth when its finally given to you.
"I'm asking you to keep your options open! That's not pushing..." well, he doesnt think it is.
"I said keep an open mind, there's a difference." He can argue semantics all day.
Petting Peggy's chin he pouts, just a little. "I still haven't told you anyways, so why does it matter? I'm being hopeful, I thought that was a good thing? It doesnt change your mind." He just wishes it would, thats all.
He took in a deep breath, and exhaled, slowly. He could feel his temper prickling.
"You're not telling me, but you want to, badly." He started rubbing his temple. "You're pushing for an answer you want. That's pushy. Just...let it be, Christopher. Okay?"
He sighed in relief. Here Ger thought that he would have to just walk away and just put the whole situation in the dumpster. At least he knew when to drop it.
Dramatically.
"Um?" He stares between Chris and the pigeon. Well, Chris did say he could talk to Peggy, but now he was wondering if there was some smack talk.
"I drink to sleep." He grumbled, "And while I could kiss and sleep with you, I don't think you'd like it very much."
He squinted, before shrugging a little. "Puzzles. I like robots. I like- making things." He looked down at his nails. They looked kind of raw. "Video games. Might get back into baking and cooking, thanks to John."
Chris makes a face, though if he's being honest he probably would like it a little bit. Well, the kissing part. He doesn't think he's quite so interested in doing much else.
He isn't about to tell Germaryah he was a good kisser though, that is confidential data.
"I like making things to! I built a robot before, though i don't know if i could recreate robo-chris here... He might be 'dangerous' according to the 'rules'." He says this with a rather sour expression on his face. He likes the Admiral and the bage but the restrictions? Not so much.
Someone didn't know about kissing and getting touched. But considering how he lit up from a kiss? He needed to slowly go into kisses.
"Then maybe ease into it so you won't be stopped by the rules?" He offered. "I don't know what you can build but if you don't break the rules? You can keep it. Have you seen the robot horses?"
"I can't ease into anything. I just do it." He gets a spark and off he goes. Shrinking it, trying to make it different before it's finished is not at all how he does anything.
"I did... I'd love to take one apart, but I haven't figured out how to turn them off to do that first." At least he doesnt want to dismantle it while it's still activated?
"So you don't get to turn it on and off? It sounds like you're following a high." He observed. Maybe it wasn't fair but it sounded like what Ger went for with his highs.
"And maybe we can find the blueprints. I don't want them wrecked. They're too beautiful to try to take them apart without being careful."
"Sometimes I can't even stop when I'm sleeping. The processes need to keep going." And maybe he was following a high, but it felt more like a calling even if he was quite addicted to it now that he'd unscrewed the lid.
The madness certainly did take up a lot of space and string him and his attention along more often than not.
Chris frowns at the thought that he might ruin them by taking them apart, "I dont break things. If we can't find schematics I'll create them as I go. It's a robot. Things go together one way, and I will put them back together the same way I took them apart."
"Needs or want to?" He wanted to know. "Because people act what I'm into is a selfish want, not a need."
Because it did seem to be much of the same way with his addiction.
"The horse robot is the most beautiful, most perfect robot I've ever seen Chris." He turned, and leaned forward and down, staring Chris in the eyes. "It'd be like taking Peggy apart even if you could bring her back to life. Why not see if you could make one as good as the ones on deck, mmm?"
"Hard to say...it hurts, when I try and keep it in, or ignore it." It used to scare him, and sometimes it still does, but chaos will take him where it will. He can't do anything but live with it.
He blinks up at Ger as he leans, leaning back just a little bit, opening his mouth and then closing it. People usually don't get this close to him, he has a decent bubble of weird that keeps them out of his space, but... "m-maybe I could build one even better..."
"It starts as a whisper but quickly becomes a roar when I do." Ignore it that is, but then he's touching him again and he swallows.
"I- I could use another assistant..." his face is turning red, looking away because if he looks up at him, its going to be worse. Shouldn't he be telling him to stop? "Peggy doesn't have thumbs, so it's unfair to expect her to hold a wrench."
"There's gotta be a way. A different way. It sounds pretty hard on you."
The words were frank, but the touch gentle as he rubbed his thumb against Chris's skin.
"And that ain't good for you. You don't want to share working together? And..." He tilted his head. "...did you want me to kiss you because I want to kiss you now?"
He gives a very stiff nod of his head, "no...it's fine, now that I let it out it's better. I dont have to fix it." He isn't sure he wanted too, even if he is aware it makes it difficult for him to connect with people, pay attention like he should. Maybe that is the cost of knowledge, and maybe he's willing to pay that price forever?
Except...
His eyes dart to Peggy and she tilts her little head at him, as if asking 'what do you want me to do about this?' Because really, there isn't anything. His cheeks are very warm now, and its bleeding up into his ears.
"C-can I ask why first?" And maybe it'll ruin it, asking a question, but since he'd said the first one he hadn't even wanted it, he felt like he deserved some kind of explanation on top of the fact that he had this insatiable need for most answers.
He tilted his head. But he didn't get any closer, even as Chris was turning all kinds of red. It was super cute.
"Because I think you're cute, and I like kissing."
It wasn't the most romantic thing in the world, but at least he wasn't doing it to get something. The bar was set low to do better, but he was much better then last time.
"Well-" he wouldn't really call it natural, he knows what all goes in it, but also a little madness gets thrown in and his hair is very soft and fluffy. As it should be.
He was going to explain all this, but what he does instead is kind of think about it while smiling like an idiot up at Germaryah.
Except then the other boy laughs and he blinks, almost as if he'd been spooked out of a thought and he gives a little nod, "okay, you can kiss me twice."
